Wandou【豌豆思维】Online Math Class

Since math is such an important foundation, I wanted to share this separately from the art class recommendation.

My kid has been attending 豌豆思维 (Wandou), an online math/logical reasoning class provided by the same education provider behind the 画啦啦 (Hualala) online art class.

Again, it’s been awesome and value-for-money at just $10+ per session, all from the comfort of home. What’s great:

• Focus on visualization and real-life math problems
• Engaging animations, games, and quizzes
• Conducts in English, Chinese, or Cantonese
• For ages 3–12, grouped by ability (S1–S9)

The way they teach is very hands-on and real. They use something called the CPA approach (Concrete → Pictorial → Abstract), which basically means kids first see and touch, then visualize, and then understand the concepts.

Levels and Age Groups

Students are grouped according to their ability after a simple assessment:

• S1–S3 (Preschool): Hands-on exploration, number sense, and basic thinking
• S4–S5 (Lower Primary): Develop understanding, analysis, and summarization skills
• S6–S9 (Upper Primary): Mature thinking, problem solving, innovation, and application

Available Languages

It’s worth noting that you can choose one of three languages. They even offer Cantonese, since they serve the Hong Kong market too!

For Jade, we chose English, and while her teacher is Chinese, her English is very good.

For the 画啦啦 online art class, only Chinese is available — but we’re cool with that. It’s actually helping Jade brush up her Chinese, learning all kinds of vocabulary. Best of both worlds!
