Hualala【画啦啦】Online Art Class

26 April 2025

I’ve found an art class that my kid loves — and it’s just $10+ a lesson.

It’s called Hualala【画啦啦】, and it’s an online art class for kids that we highly recommend.

  • For 3–12 years old
  • Max 8 children per class
  • Conduct in Mandarin only
  • Includes 1 free trial class

I’ve never been one to post promos just for the sake of it. But this is something I actually paid for and signed up for my kid, long before I ever thought of sharing it.

Disclaimer: I do get referral rewards, but this is genuinely a class that I can recommend to my friends.

The classes are live, interactive, and my kid loves them. And they cost just $10+ per session, a fraction of what I used to pay 😄

There’s also an online math/thinking class provided by the same organization.

Why I switched from physical to online

I used to send my older kid to a physical art class.

It was great — the teacher was experienced, the environment was nice, and the art they produced was impressive. But honestly,

  • It cost $40+ per lesson
  • And I had to send and fetch every week

It didn’t last more than 6 months. Between logistics and cost, it just wasn’t sustainable.

Then I gave online art class a shot.

Not gonna lie — I was skeptical. I questioned my wife:

How can they teach drawing properly without being there in person, holding their hand or showing the painting technique?

But here’s the thing: online works.

And surprisingly well. Here’s some of my 5-year-old daughter’s drawings from the classes.

Online art class – Hualala experience

More creative online

The teacher demonstrates step-by-step — shows them how to draw a character, a scene, or even a dinosaur — and then let the kids explore their own version.

Absolute freedom to create and have fun. No rigid rules. Just

Here’s how I do it… now show me yours!

That kind of creative freedom without hand-holding.. you don’t always get it in physical classes. Perhaps that’s why online works.

The result? Some of my kid’s best work yet.

Before and after: same prompt, different outcome There’s no “right” or “wrong” in creativity.

But more than that… she enjoys it

She actually looks forward to class.
No dragging. No bribing.

And what I love most?
She doesn’t just stop drawing when the session ends.

She now draws for fun at home.
She teaches her friends how to sketch dinosaurs at school — based on what she learned in class!

So… Is it worth trying?

I’ve shared this with 5 other parents.
All of them tried the free class.
All of them signed up for more.

Here’s what you’ll get, all for free:

  • ✅ 1 free trial of the online art class
  • ✅ 1 free trial of their online math/thinking class
  • ✅ 29 recorded lessons to explore at your own pace

There’s no pressure, no hard-sell, no strings.

So just try it out and see if your kid enjoys it as much as mine does, from the comfort of your own home.
